When you wake up in the morning from the sleeping bags you couldn’t guess what the day had installed for you. If you walk out you could feel the morning breeze and the cool fresh air of Sweden coming to your face. The only thing you can say is this is the best day ever.

We rushed to the bath and got ourselves cleaned up. We had cornflakes and tea as our breakfast and out patrol, the buffaloes was preparing it. For the day we were going to the Earth. Earth is a place where we do activities with which mainly specialise on man and his environment. We had an activity which wanted us to talk about natural disasters occuring in your country. We Zimbabwean, my Patrol is Buffalo chose drought as that occurred in 2007 and 2008. We talked about the problems we faced and what should have been done to prevent it.

t around 3pm when we finished the activities we rushed back to our campsite because we were getting visitors. Our patrol was going to  host 20 Spanish people. We prepared our Dinner and they arrived at 7pm. We had our dinner and they really commented on our food. When we were done we played games till they went back.  At the other hand the other patrol went to the British campsite for supper, they really had a nice time there.

The ended up early but we had a nice and cool Friday.

Journey from Vanga to Jamboree site by Harnish Patel

We started the journey from where we were staying (Vanga). We put our bags in the cars then we went to the bus station. It took about 20mins. We then got onto the bus which was a double decker . On the bus there was some Swiss people whom we all made friends with. On the way we picked up more Swiss. The journey was very long but we managed it. This Swiss people were very friendly. On the way we stopped at McDonald’s for some lunch. Then we finally got to the jamboree and were very happy to be there.

After 5 hours of travelling, we finally arrived at the World Scout Jamboree!!! We were so excited and happy. Together with some of the Swedes who hosted us in Vanga, we off loaded our bags from the bus and entered Jamboree. The first impression we got was awesome. The bright tents stretching beyond the horizon, different people everywhere and the sight of over 35 000people smiling back at you, all wanting to know you. We carried our bags to our sub-camp, Winter. We got a little lost at first but after consulting a few people from the service team, we finally found our way to our campsite. To our surprise, no tents were put out for us but thanks to the service team we got some tents and pitched them ourselves. After that we went to get tables and benches for use and got boxes full of things we could use for cooking. We got together and sent the patrol leaders to the store to get some food for us. They got a light meal since everyone was tired and really wanted a good night sleep. After our supper we washed our plates and finally got a good night sleep, awaiting the excitement and fun of the 22^nd World Scout Jamboree.

Things were simply flowing smoothly in the world of scouting in the beautifully made country of Sweden.

I, Lloyd Tawanda Nyakuyaka am like in a paradise of my lifetime because things for my living and the living of being a scout involved in 30000 scouts with different cultures, Sweden, America, Kenya, Tanzania, Hong Kong, Belgium and thousand more countries all for one thing in the universe of scouting.

The day to day was just fine and cool for me but very rainy all day long for about three quarters of the time.

This is a moment of a lifetime that is worthy to be remembered even for the rest of my entire life. Love you all. How is Esnath?

The Opening Ceremony by Nicole Matienga

The day went so good excluding the rainy part.  We were all preparing for the Opening Ceremony of the 22^nd World Scout Jamboree.  At half past seven, we were all ready to go. It about 30minutes for us to reach the grounds. As we arrived there, there was plenty of people. Many people were excited for the opening of the Jamboree. After a few minutes the lights on the stage went on and it was so beautiful/. There were so many performances which were held. There was also ABBA which is the most popular people in Sweden and around the world. It was star-struck as we saw the ABBA crew. Though they were old they were very good in singing. All the performances were great. There was also an awesome time when the flags of each country were being raised up. The people or the leaders came to open the jamboree. After they opened it the fireworks shot up into the sky then later on the last performance was held. This performance was so good. After some few minutes the opening ceremony ended but everyone still wanted to have more. Thanks to the leaders because this day was fantastic.

2nd Day in Boras by Lloyd Roche

We woke up nice and early and some showered. We had breakfast which consisted of
bread and cheese and fruit with tea and juice. We then went into the barn to
practise our deteriorated dance. We greatly improved after many mistakes and went
inside to change into costumes so that we could go and swim in the freezing cold
lake.. arrived at the lake and we all went on speed boats or canoes and many people
capsized  but no one died or was injured . we swam but it was cold. We rocked the
buoy and created havoc but had total fun .in between we had apple pie with vanilla
sauce, tea and coffee .it totally warmed us up we then left to eat lunch and bath
for dinner. For dinner we were split into three and we all went to different houses
to meet families and have a typical Swedish meal. It was home hospitality. We all
went back home at different times where we bathed again and went to bed. 

1st day in Boras by Neil Stringer

On the 25th of July 2011 we spent our 1st full day in home hospitality in a town
called Boras. We all started the day with a walk to the local lake escorted by a
local girl called Hannah which I love litetrally. The girls went shopping. After
that we went down to the local flour mill after playing a fun game which was opened
in the 1800s and it was powered by a water wheel but it has been converted into a
turbine consuming barely any energy. After that we did the aerial obsticle course,
which is 12 metres high in places, no falls from anyone but some were close because
STARR WAS TOO FAST. STARR WAS THER RECORD BREAKER. In the evening we had a Swedish
campfire inside that had no fire. Very many new fun songs mostly in Swedish. The day
ended well as we wished the Swedish Scouts farewell as they journeyed to the
Jamboree a day before us.

Stockholm - Boras by Starr Hill

Arrived at Arlanda Airport in Stockholm in the early afternoon and then we caught a
bus for 40 minutes to the Centre of Stockholm. We waited for quite a while and
talked until our bus arrived at about 20 past 5. We loaded our bags onto the bus and
went on our way. The bus was a Swebus. We travelled for about 6 hours and talked and
slept and laughed about weird things. We eventually arrived at Boras where we caught
our rides and the journey began!

Doha - Stockholm by Shyleen Masina

We arrived in Doha at around 7 am it was realy hot, about 38degrees we didn’t have
time to walk around the airport because our next flight was at 7.30am I didn’t see
much because I was tired. We got our lunch in the plane. We arrived at Stockholm at
2.00pm there we met the people who got us lunch, and sleeping things. Their really
nice people and we were enjoying ourselves.

Joburg - Doha by Kirsten Little

We checked in at Joburg airport and after waiting a while we finally got onto the
plane and I was sitting with Brenda and Lainah but I wanted to sit with my Buddies
but hey. It was cool but we mostly slept, I think cause we were so tired and we had
chicken or fish for dinner, it was really good. And the aeroplane was so cool Qatar
was awesome, I would love to work on it. 

Harare - Joburg by Lainah Machemba

We woke up very early at about 5am. Everyone was so excited and nervous at  the same
time. The girls went to bath at Emerald Hill while the boys went to Chucks place. We
got back got into our uniforms and had breakfast which was Sadza Chicken and coffee.
Then we had photos taken and got ready for the long awaited journey. We then went to
the airport with our parents. We then got onto our first plane which was from Harare
to Joburg. The journey took us 1 and a half hours. That was 1030am to 12. We had
sandwiches in the plane. We got to Joburg and we had to wait there for   about 9
hours for our next flight to Doha.
